LAYERED EGO 2
2019
Wood, copper studs, paint
Diameter 600 cm

The sculpture consists of 15 separate chairs connected to a circular bench. When visitors sit on the work, they become part of this work, and transform the whole scene into a “support group” therapy, where the individual ego is voluntarily exposed in public through confession. The bench surface is dotted with numerous copper studs, in reminiscence of Braille writing system, a special language of which the semantics comes from dots and shapes. To the majority, they are silent, they only make sense when someone touches and decodes them, like the ego of each person is only opened to the ones who are compassionate
